St. Patrick’s Day weekend (April 17-19) was pretty jam packed for me. Back in February, I decided to buy some tickets for the Ducks v Sharks game and I ended up turning a game outing into a little mini-vacation with a couple of my friends.
I’m REALLY excited for this upcoming season. First of all, it’s the 20th Anniversary for the Anaheim (Mighty) Ducks! Plus, I was excited for the upcoming first outdoor Ice Hockey game in Southern California. As for the second, well, just watch this video. Woohoo!
In celebration, I will also post this highlight video, haha!
I can also finally say that I got to see Selanne play before his inevitable retirement. It’s a shame I can’t say the same about Kariya since I never got a chance to attend a game before he eventually moved on in 2003 from the Mighty Ducks and subsequently retired in 2010 because of concussions, but I digress. I’ve gotta say that I couldn’t have made a better decision for a game to attend. The Ducks and Kings match-ups are never disappointing and the crowd rivalry between two close markets always makes it more fun. You couldn’t get a better “money’s worth” for entertainment than a game that went into overtime at 3-3 and ended with a Ducks win in a shootout. I can’t wait for the next one I can attend.
Great game last night. My favorite play of the night was from Fasth, between the pipes, poke checking the puck. It was bananas, but it paid off. Now the Ducks (6-1-1) are sitting comfortably at second in the division behind the Sharks (7-1-1) as of 3/5/2013.
The game was a nail biter and easily the most entertaining game of the season so far. There were a few questionable calls, but the game ended dramatically (in a good way). Here’s a some highlights of the game yesterday.
Anyway, be sure to tune into Planetside 2’s twitch stream tonight for the Ultimate Empire Showdown. My outfit, the 666th Devil Dogs, will be part of the majority of the NC command squad and we will be fighting on our home server against representatives from all the factions.
PS. The showdown will end just in time for the home opener of the Ducks v. Canucks game. Go Ducks!
